Feminist Studies and Media Culture

Acquiring Editor: Kendra Boileau

Series Editor: Andrea Press

Established in 1993, this series (formerly Feminist Cultural Studies, the Media and Political Culture) continues to serve as a much needed home for interdisciplinary work emphasizing feminist analysis of media culture. Series titles will explore the relationship between media--broadly defined to include forms such as film, television, telecommunications, and cyberspace--and gender issues. Drawing upon research in communication studies, anthropology, history, sociology, and literature, works in this series typically combine textual analysis and ethnographic research in order to investigate the political dynamics of media representation, audience reception, and the role media and communication play in the construction of cultural norms and practices.
