Q2. Why weren't men included among the essayists?

A2. Women, especially in academia, have been silenced more often because of accusations that they are too "subjective"; so we started with women, but we welcome men's stories and responses on the website.


Q3. Why are there so many more scholars from the humanities involved in this project than scholars from non-humanities disciplines?

A3. Although we asked several scientist to join us, they found it difficult to "translate" their scientific work into the language of narrative.


Q4. Why are only academics included?

A4. We believe that everyone has one or more stories that have deeply influenced and even shaped their lives, but we began with what we know best: interdisciplinary fields of scholarship.
