Don't Get above Your Raisin'Today SoLost, the video magazine of Oxford American, released a lovely interview and profile called Bill C. Malone: Scholarly Hero of Country Music.  Malone also published two books in our Music in American Life series, Don’t Get above Your Raisin’: Country Music and the Southern Working Class and Working Girl Blues: The Life and Music of Hazel Dickens which he wrote with Hazel Dickens.

If you’d like to read more about Bill Malone, No Depression interviewed him late last year. He talks about many of his books and getting to know his subjects.

One Response to Bill Malone, SoLost, and Country Music

  1. Francesco Sinibaldi says:

    Gentle tradition…

    Gentle and
    sweet sensibility,
    I call your
    attraction to give
    an appearance
    to that delicate
    sound…
