Jazz performer and musical ambassador Marian McPartland, passed away this week at her home in Port Washington, N.Y. at age 95.

In addition to a performance career that took off when she moved to the U.S. from her native England in 1946, Marian was also well known for her long-running National Public Radio show “Marian McPartland’s Piano Jazz.”

Marian was also the author of the University of Illinois Press book Marian McPartland’s Jazz World: All in Good Time.
