The Marketing department took a daytrip to Chicago earlier this week to check out the exhibits floor at the ALA annual meeting. Though there were some giveaways, I was surprised that most publishers seemed to be selling their display copies; typically $10 for hardcovers and $3-5 for paperbacks. Kind of a hybrid of BEA (where selling display copies is not allowed) and an academic conference.
The $25 entry fee was very reasonable.
