Lorna Rivera’s recent book, Laboring to Learn: Women’s Literacy and Poverty in the Post-Welfare Era, has received the Cyril O. Houle Award for Outstanding Literature in Adult Education. It is awarded annually by the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education for a book published in the previous year that reflects universal concerns of adult educators. The award presentation was made on Thursday, November 5th at the annual conference for AAACE.
