Alyn Shipton, author of the new book I Feel a Song Coming On: The Life of Jimmy McHugh, was featured in the December 11, 2009, edition of The Oxford Times.

Alyn Shipton is a Renaissance man. This does not mean that he was born in 1400, but it indicates that he has a very wide range of interests and expertise. . . . Although he still plays the double bass with various ensembles, writing and broadcasting are his main occupations – primarily to convey his love for jazz.
