During our Internal meeting today we discussed prospective titles and subtitles for two upcoming books.

-Though not biographies, should we include names of the books’ main subjects in the titles?
-For the book translated from the French, should we use the original French title, or the translation?
-Because the strict translation sounds a little clunky in English, should we try something that sounds better to the English ear?
-What keywords do we have to use in the titles
-Are the titles too long?

While perusing a recent Penn Press catalog, I found a new favorite book title:

The Anatomy Murders: Being the True and Spectacular History of Edinburgh’s Notorious Burke and Hare and of the Man of Science Who Abetted Them in the Commission of Their Most Heinous Crimes

I’d love to see a videotape of that Internal meeting.
