The Architecture of Barry Byrne a Printers Row favorite

The Architecture of Barry Byrne by Vincent L. Michael was named one of the top books of 2013 by the Chicago Tribune Printer’s Row.

As the subtitle of the book, Taking the Prairie School to Europe, indicates, Chicago architect Byrne was an apprentice of Frank Lloyd Wright.

Blair Kamin, who picked the book as a favorite, writes that author Michael “reveals how Byrne carved a path separate from Wright’s and sheds light on his interactions with Europe’s architectural avant-garde.”
