Cuban Zarzuela wins AMS award

Stevenson Award presented by the American Musicological Society (AMS) for outstanding scholarship in Iberian music.

Cuban Zarzuela is the first comprehensive study of Cuban zarzuela, a Spanish-language light opera with spoken dialogue that originated in Spain but flourished in Havana during the early twentieth century.
