Contesting Archives: Finding Women in the Sources, edited by Nupur Chaudhuri, Sherry J. Katz and Mary Elizabeth Perry, was unanimously selected as the recipient of this year’s Barbara “Penny” Kanner Prize presented by the Western Association of Women Historians.
The book’s contributors developed new methodologies for creating unique archives, weaving together many layers of information to reveal complexities and working collectively to reconstruct the lives of women in the past.
