To continue the blog’s thread on books we’ve started but never finished: I was sitting in our family room this past weekend eyeballing the varying spines on our bookshelves. Infinite Jest is unquestionably the king of the shelves in our house (my Riverside Shakespeare having been relegated to a lower-ranking side-lying position now hidden by an Elmo beanbag). I’ve started it a few times but not gotten very far. And Girl with Curious Hair has been on my nightstand for weeks.

Then the sad news about David Foster Wallace arrived on the eve of a weekend of curious weather in Chambana, his hometown. So sad, and so sorry.
