BEA, please meet Hollywood

For the past few years, as Book Expo has grappled with how to best sustain the show (host it in New York for the foreseeable future, keep the public out, cut the exhibit hall to two days, no-expand it back to three days, etc.), I’ve wondered why there isn’t a film component to the show. Why no blockbuster movie premieres, based on books, timed to coincide with Book Expo?  Why no BEA sponsored film fest similar to SXSWComic Con‘s incorporation of film culture is huge and its attendance has reached its limit.

It seems like a natural fit.

Just a thought BEA folks…
