Margaret Washington’s book, Sojourner Truth’s America, was selected as winner of the inaugural 2010 OAH Darlene Clark Hine Award for the best book in African American women’s and gender history.

The award will be presented at the 2010 Annual Meeting of the Organization of American Historians in Washington, D.C., on Saturday April 10th.  The University of Illinois Press will celebrate Margaret Washington’s achievement with a champagne toast in our booth at the OAH meeting on April 9.
