Hands on the Freedom Plow: Personal Accounts by Women in the SNCC was selected as one of this year’s winners of the Letitia Woods Brown Book Award, sponsored by the Association of Black Women Historians.

Any monograph, anthology or scholarly article written about or by an Africana woman scholar is eligible.

This year’s award was presented on October 8th at the 2011 Annual Association of Black Women Historian’s Luncheon.
