Making Photography Matter: A Viewer’s History from the Civil War to the Great Depression by Cara A. Finnegan was recently awarded the James A. Winans and Herbert A. Wichelns Memorial Award for Distinguished Scholarship in Rhetoric and Public Address from the National Communication Association (NCA).

Author Cara Finnegan will be presented with the the award on Saturday, November 12 at the NCA annual convention in Philadelphia.

Making Photography Matter also won the Outstanding Book of the Year from the Visual Communication Division of the National Communication Association in 2015.
