The University of Illinois Press has been informed by the Illinois State Historical Society that the March-April 2026 issue, Volume 29, Number Two, of Illinois Heritage is the final issue. The magazine’s cancellation reflects financial challenges faced by the Society, forcing cutbacks, the most notable for now being the cessation of Illinois Heritage, a fine publication.
The Journal of the Illinois State Historical Society is not affected by this change.
